This Underworld isn't for mobsters and gun-runners. Mobsters and gun-runners would be an improvement in this neighborhood.
The most evil beings throughout time have been banished to this slimy, dark place. Fomorii demons, Basilisks, the Hounds of the Underworld, and more-if it bumps in the night here, it'll eat you, no questions asked. After it slobbers on you for a mind-bending second or two.
Underworld lies beneath all the lakes and oceans of the world, deep below the surface of Otherworld. Instead of a sky, residents enjoy a thick forest of down-growing roots from magical plants that reside in the ocean. These roots and colonies of juicy slugs make up the main diet for Underworld's wicked exiles-when they aren't fighting or munching on one another, that is.
The only variation in the shadowy scenery are ancient caverns filled with floor-to-ceiling spikes of mud, earth, and rock, much like stalactites and stalagmites-only cold and putrid instead of beautiful. Oh, and lucky residents also enjoy thick pools of goo, and some slime-covered lakes and ponds which happen to be filled with eternal fire.
What's not to love, right?
